Photoshop script for exporting text from a Photoshop file

I came across this script that makes it possible for you to export the text from within a photoshop document to a text file. This can be especially useful when going from a concept website or email to final production. Especially if the client made changes to the original copy after you brought it into photoshop and then had to go through several rounds of changes before they signed off on the concept. This could save a lot of time in final production, by not having to open up all the text layers to copy and paste individually. As long as you can make sense of it once it's exported, it will work great. How to use it: Download the script from the link below. If you are on a PC, you can follow the instructions from the website. If on a Mac, here is one way to make it run:

  1. Open your Photoshop file
  2. Go to File/Scripts/Browse...
  3. Find the script file you just downloaded and click "Upload"
  4. Tell the script where you want the text file saved and give it a name
  5. And TADA! Your text file appears.
The script seems to generate the text from each layer and in reverse order from bottom to top (strange). Each layers text is grouped and has the layer name where it came from. I guess it would teach you to organize your layers differently to make it easier to work with the text once it's exported. Good luck. The script was written by Bram Van Damme, a developer in Belgium.
